Suggestions Please

So we are way out of the video rental loop. I need some suggestions people. The latest 3 movies we (I) watched were: The Constant Gardener, Walk the Line and the Producers.

Anyone seen: North Country, Good Night and Good Luck, Capote, Match Point, the Family Stone, Rumor Has it? Anything Else? Saw these titles and wondering what is worth the rental... Would love some advice here....

As sad as it is, the boy & i are big time video renters ... so I'll try my best to suggest.... i guess i saw the family stone and was a little bored by it... i didn't quite see the fun... "memoirs of a geisha" is good, but the movie moves VERY fast and you almost need someone who's read the book to watch it with you.... I saw one that was a low budget pic i think - it was called "Cake" and I found it amusing enough i even watched it a second time... We did like "8 below".... "Failure to launch" was more amusing than the family stone, but still left me a bit bleary (bleary in the sense of "i paid 8 dollars to watch this???) ...."firewall" was very good... "the ringer" believe it or not was quite fun to watch... definitely good rental quality.... Your hubby would probably like "silent hill" as it is based on the video game - I personally have not seen it, but other people said it was good.... I can't remember what else we've watched... i heard history of violence is very good, but as the title suggests - very violent... i also heard that good night and good luck was excellent..... hope that helps! :)

I highly recommend all but Rumor Has it. We actually just watched the Family Stone and truly (and surprisingly) enjoyed it immensely. Just good writing/acting/direction. Capote (awesome), Good Night & good Luck (important and well done but where were all the women back then-I know cleaning the house-so show me some scenes of the women in their lives), MatchPoint (really good, hated both of the main characters for most of the film but somehow ol' Woody comes through in the end), north Country (great-but why does she have to try and be ugly-can't you just give a normal looking girl a chance once in a while-just play glamazons Cherize you are good at them)

Other picks
history of Violence
and I am sure we have more on our netflix referral page.

The family stone is good. I actually sat through the whole thing without the "ADD" kicking in too bad. That's all I got for you. Except we watched "the date movie" which was absolutely vulgar and retarded and made me laugh so hard..... -Jeneen
