A wonderous find...

I have spent most of the day in a funk, for a variety of reasons I will not get into. However, this afternoon the Guyser and I took a bikeride to the grocery store. I was thirsty and decided to step out of my comfort zone (Dt. Pepsi) and try something new. I reached for a Diet Dr. Pepper Berries and Cream. Let me tell ya, that is 20 oz of pure heaven! Yum Yum Yum.....it was so good, it momentarily pushed me out of the funk zone! Try one....but don't if you don't like cream soda....

The World according to the Guyser

According to the Guyser, this is the best and only video to be watched lately. I find this interesting, because this Disney production was made in 1948. It features the Andrew Sisters and Roy Rogers, to name a few. He refers to this video as "Toot" b/c the Andrew sisters sing "Little Toot" about a naughty tugboat. It is interesting to see the art of the cartoon cells in this video compared to Alladin or Beauty and the Beast. Not saying one is better than the other, but what a difference! I did a bit of research and apparently this video is edited b/c the Pecos Bill short (sung by Roy Rogers) is missing the whole scene of Pecos Bill rolling a cigarette and having it lit by a lightening bolt. That stinks, I would have like to have seen that. Peco's can't smoke, but Gaston and the Beast can battle it out and stab each other........Hell, Pinocchio got to smoke, and he's a kid!

Ok, maybe these aren't all Guyser's thoughts...then again maybe they are, and he just doesn't know how to tell me yet.......

Not much.................

Happy Hump Day to all! I am exhausted this week. Spent the weekend in the land of 10000 Lakes for a wedding while the Guyser had some Grandparent time. He got some coolio shoes that light up out of the deal too! I got to spend some time with family and friends, and that is always fun. But all the driving is tiring. That coupled with the Guyser not sleeping so well and that STUPID BLACK BOX that kept beeping last night... (i.e. Hubby on call) in addition to my tough workout this morning....yeah... I need a nap. I am so happy we get a Y membership with this residency. That rocks. I finally get to work out again and the Guyser gets to play. Now I need to get me one of those I-Pod dealies to play my tunes. Been having some computer "issues." But luckily I have a cool neighbor who is computer whiz, so he is helping me out. Fixing this super slow laptop, and resurrecting the dead one we have. I will be paying him in cheesecake.... really yummy, sinfully good cheesecake. Well, that is enough rambling about nuthin'.....

Disgruntled....

The Hubby was around yesterday afternoon, so I took a few hours for myself. What did I do? What most red-blooded American women do: went shopping. I wandered through the thrift shops on my never-ending furniture quest (we have a house to fill now, ya' know...) and did find two night stands for $4/each. That rocked. Then I decided to go to a couple clothing stores. Here is where my mood changed. Now back in the days of BG (Before Guyser) I liked to shop, and usually had pretty good luck. But yesterday was not like before. Something happened over the past mmm.... 4 years..... with clothing. Now I am not trying to be funny here. Seriously, this isn't a case of "letting myself go" after the Guyser. Heck, a month ago, just out of curiousity, I tried on my senior prom dress AND IT FIT..... ok, not through my rib cage, but thru my lower half! And THIS is what brings me to my disgruntledness.
WHO IN THE WORLD ARE THESE PANTS MADE FOR NOWDAYS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

We went to the pool yesterday, and a glimpse around that pool yielded a mere handful of bodies that would fit into these pants! I admit, I have always had trouble with pants. In highschool, I bought men's jeans b/c they sat lower on my waist and were wider through the legs. I KNOW I have "back." I have a bit of a "Badonkadonk" as Trace Atkins refers to in his song. I had 'thunderthighs' at age 5. I was never destined to be a beanpole. Anyone who played hockey or skated for any length of time, knows that their thighs and butt get big. Anyway, I realize I am not the only person out there like this... far from it, so again I ask, am I just unaware that girls/women have developed toothpick legs lately? Its like this, to get dress pants to look relatively decent, I have to go up about 4 sizes so the legs fit,and then the waist is then mmmm..... four sizes too big! And I am all about a lower rise fit on my pants, but the rise on some of these pants would get me arrested for indecent exposure if I stepped out of the fitting room!!!

Maybe my body belongs to a different time. I don't have this problem in trying to find skirts, or usually even dresses. Maybe I belong to Donna Reed's time, where I would mop and dust in a dress.......It is just so frustrating to finally have some time to spend on myself, and then I leave the store feeling 10x worse than I did when I came in, because everything I tried on looked like crap.

Seriously, where do I have to go for trendy clothes that are made to fit REAL women? I know I can't be the only one out there who feels like this, am I?

The ManRoom

The ManRoom is done. I think it turned out pretty darn cool. It is hard to believe it is the same room. Just thought I would post some pics....

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my Guyser! It is amazing how fast two years flies by!
That cake was some good eatin'!

The progression of the cake...

First we start off with a nice Pooh Bear Cake (not pictured...)
Then, while being held by her mommy, the neighbor girl puts her foot in the corner....

Then, while I am getting my son rounded up to blow out his candle, the neighbor boy puts his hand in the cake!

This is what happens at a two-year-old's birthday I guess! I think it was pretty funny!

No, really, it doesn't get much cuter than this!

Suggestions Please

So we are way out of the video rental loop. I need some suggestions people. The latest 3 movies we (I) watched were: The Constant Gardener, Walk the Line and the Producers.

Anyone seen: North Country, Good Night and Good Luck, Capote, Match Point, the Family Stone, Rumor Has it? Anything Else? Saw these titles and wondering what is worth the rental... Would love some advice here....
